Hydraulic Systems
With close to 100 hydraulic power units in the field, Gateway Fluid Power is dedicated to ensuring that these systems maintain a
high level of availablity for our customers' needs. In order to facilitate this high level of availability, we instruct the customer
on proper usage of the system, proper maintenance of the system, proper oil level cleanliness of the system and proper oil temperature
of the system. However, over a period of time, components will wear and components will become obsolete. Components can become obsolete
because of several issues, but include:
- The requirements of the application have changed. Faster cycle times, more torque, etc.
- New components on the market that can acheive desired results in a more efficient manner.
- New components can do the job of multiple components.
- Etc.
When components become wore out or become obsolete, we are there to provide remanufactured services to these hydraulic power units.
We offer the following remanufactured services:
- Bring the unit to our facility.
- Clean the unit.
- Strip down the unit to the frame, removing all components.
- Clean or change out hydraulic fluid.
- Test components for efficiency.
- Replace worn components.
- Replace hydraulic hoses/fittings.
- Test electronic components.
- Replace electronic components.
- Sandblast and paint power units.
- Reassembly and test power units.
- Provide test results to the customer.
Hydraulic Components - Cylinders
We provide a full set of remanufacturing services for hydraulic cylinders. We are able to disassemble the cylinder and to
make an attempt to determine the root cause of the failure. We then take the appropriate steps to remanufacture the cylinder
to a standard that meets or exceeds the O.E.M.'s specifications. We have the ability to:
- Machine new rods.
- Machine new pistons.
- Machine new intermediate stages.
- Machine new bodies.
- Chrome plate all required components.
Chrome plating is done by an independent company that specializes in the removal and application of chrome to ferrous materials.
We only choose the vendors that supply us with the exacting standards that we demand for our customers.
Once all components meet or exceed standards, we then install the highest quality seals and wear components. Proper seal size and
material composition are key determinants in useful life. Another extremely important step in the process is to take great care in
the re-assembly process. Once the re-assembly is complete, we cycle test each cylinder, checking for:
- Visible leakage around seals.
- Visible leakage around all welds.
- Internal leakage during extend ( all stages ).
- Internal leakage during retract ( all stages ).
